John Thurmond


Established in 2009, John founded Thurmond Fitness which began as an On-Site training company. The company quickly expanded and revamped into TruFit, Inc. John has education in nutritional sciences from Texas Christian University and has had a passion for physical fitness beginning in highschool where he was a football player and captain of the wrestling team.  Since then, John has advanced his education and training with years of experience in health and fitness, including weight loss, weight-management, muscle building & toning, and corrective exercise. He holds multiple certifications from the world renowned Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas, including:

  • Personalized Fitness Specialist
  • Biomechanics of Resistance Training
  • Optimal Performance for Competitive Athletes

John enjoys any outdoor activity including fishing, hiking, and camping; as well as working out, trying new restaurants, bowling, golf, and spending time with his three nieces.

Jonathan Baca 


Jonathan Baca (JB) is a personal trainer and the partnering owner of TruFit. As a certified personal trainer since 2010 with education in Kinesiology, Exercise Sports Science, and Nutrition from Texas State University, JB brings years of expertise in all areas of health and fitness, including meal planning, weight loss, muscle building & toning, and corrective exercise. As a former arena football player, JB has extensive experience in sports performance, strength and conditioning. He enjoys working out, playing basketball, biking, bowling, attending sporting events, concerts, and spending time with family and friends.

Courtney Rogers


Courtney began training with Trufit in March 2017 with a primary focus on bootcamps and one-on-one training.  She graduated from Texas Woman’s University where she studied Health Studies and Government. Soon after graduating, she became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is currently working on an additional certification as a Women’s Health Specialist for advanced knowledge in pre and post natal training. As a former athlete, Courtney has expertise in training programs that challenge strength and endurance, in both large and small group settings. She loves doing anything outside, being at the lake, playing soccer, working out, and spending time with her husband and their two little girls.
